Acceptable Use Policy

1. About this policy
This policy sets out what you must not do with ClipCheap. It applies to everyone who uses the service and to everything they upload, link to, create or publish with it, and it is part of ourTerms of Service. Each member of a workspace must follow it, and the workspace owner is responsible for the workspace.
2. Use only content you have rights to
- Only add videos you own, or that you have permission to process, edit and repurpose.
- Only publish clips you have the right to publish, on the terms the rights holder allows.
- Get consent from the people in your videos where the law requires it, and respect their privacy.
- Don’t use ClipCheap to get around DRM, encryption, sign-ins, paywalls, age gates, regional blocks or any other measure that controls access to content, and don’t submit private, members-only or live videos.
- Follow the terms of the platform a video comes from, including YouTube’s Terms of Service.
3. Prohibited content
Don’t upload, link to, create or publish content that:
- is illegal where you are, where we operate, or where you publish it;
- sexually exploits or endangers children, including child sexual abuse material and any sexual content involving minors. We have zero tolerance for this: we remove it, close the account and report it to the authorities;
- shares intimate images without consent, including sexually explicit content, real or synthetic, of anyone who hasn’t agreed to it;
- promotes hatred by attacking or demeaning people because of their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or another protected characteristic;
- harasses or threatens people, bullies them, encourages harm against them, or reveals their private information without permission;
- supports violent extremism or terrorism, or glorifies, promotes or threatens serious violence;
- infringes someone’s rights, such as copyright, trademarks, or privacy and publicity rights;
- impersonates someone or deceives with deepfakes: synthetic or manipulated media that falsely shows a real person saying or doing something, or that passes you off as someone else;
- is spam or a scam, such as fraud, phishing, pyramid schemes, fake giveaways, or misleading health or financial claims; or
- contains malware or anything else designed to damage devices or systems.
4. Misleading edits and synthetic media
Clipping removes context. Don’t cut, caption or combine clips so that they misrepresent what someone said or did, for example by trimming a sentence so that it means the opposite. If a clip has been altered in a way that could mislead people, label it as altered, and follow each app’s rules for disclosing AI-generated or synthetic content.
5. Prohibited behavior
Don’t:
- get around plan limits, allowances, seats, watermarks or other plan features, for example by removing, cropping or hiding the Free plan watermark;
- open or use more than one Free account to get more free allowance, or share an account or its sign-in details;
- resell or rent out access to ClipCheap without our written permission (agencies are welcome to use it for their clients’ videos);
- scrape, crawl or harvest data from the service, or use bots or scripts to access it, except through features we provide for that;
- copy, modify, reverse engineer or decompile the service, or try to extract its source code, except where the law allows it despite this rule;
- probe, scan or test the security of ClipCheap without our written permission. If you find a vulnerability, report it to legal@clipcheap.app and give us reasonable time to fix it before you disclose it;
- overload, disrupt or interfere with the service, for example by sending excessive requests or flooding it with jobs; or
- access accounts, workspaces, data or systems you aren’t authorized to use, or get around our security, bot checks or rate limits.
6. Publishing responsibly
- Follow the terms, community guidelines and automation rules of each app you publish to, and of Buffer if you post through it.
- Don’t post spam: repetitive, unsolicited or deceptive posts, misleading tags or engagement bait.
- Disclose paid partnerships and sponsored content as the law and each app require.
- Only connect social accounts and Buffer channels you are authorized to manage.
7. AI provider rules
AI model providers process your audio and transcripts through OpenRouter, so your content must also follow the usage policies of OpenRouter and those providers. They prohibit much of the same content as this policy.
8. Reporting a problem
To report content or behavior that breaks this policy, email legal@clipcheap.app with a description of the problem and enough detail for us to find it, such as a link. If you come across content that sexually exploits a child, report it to us and to the police or a child-protection hotline in your country.
For copyright complaints, follow our Copyright Policy.
9. Enforcement
We don’t monitor all content, but we review reports and suspected violations. If we find that this policy has been broken, we may, depending on how serious it is:
- warn you;
- remove or disable content, or cancel jobs and scheduled posts;
- disconnect publishing accounts;
- limit features, or suspend or close the account or workspace; and
- report illegal activity to the authorities and cooperate with them.
We usually tell you what we did and why, unless that would be unlawful, put someone at risk or harm an investigation. If you think we got it wrong, reply to our message or write to legal@clipcheap.app, and we will review the decision.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service and the law change. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version.
